2016 EXHIBITIONS part 2 - Caffe bar GALLERY

Apparently people talk about me so a girl called and before I knew it I had a second opening in January in a small caffe near Kvaternikov trg in Zagreb. The girl/woman, Silvia Kovačević organized the exhibition and is the author of the documentary photographs I am showing you. http://www.silviakovacevic.com/

I exhibited silkscreens to hide the hideous coffee shop print already on the wall and some silkscreens and linocuts that were framed just for the occasion.

2016 EXHIBITIONS part 1 - Gallery PIKTO

It's been a long time since I have posted anything on this blog. Almost as if I forgotten about it. But no more. This is the first exhibition of the year 2016. Twas in January and now I am realizing that 2016 was shaping up to be a year full of exhibiting the work I made in the last year including some new ones. Some works will be recognized from a former post, but there are a few new paintings.

The thought behind the exhibits is our/my place in our/my space (universe/environment) and the relationship of the two of them while asking how did we/I get here and is this everything we/I will ever achieve? 

No case is equal although they share similarities (the linocuts) as they orbit around their respective land masses (Fra(u)gments). Are they landing on them, did the leave them or are they just traveling from one to another?

Art colony on the island of Vis in the city of Vis - July 2014.

      

     

The works were made because of the theme of the colony, which was "The Sea". Although the first things than can come to mind would be sharks, fish, corals or beaches I wanted to acknowledge the ones who gave their lives in the shipyards working on ships. Earning a living by the side of the sea, not being on it like a ship captain or other crew members.
